ANNUAL BENEFIT RAFFLE
Greetings Friends and Neighbors!
We are excited to announce our annual fund raiser and raffle. We have some great prizes (listed below). This year donated by local citizens and businesses. The Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad (LVRS) you depend on, depends on you. LVRS is the last and only squad in the State of Vermont that does not charge for our services. this is comparable to a $1200 per service charge from other paid squads. Our coverage area is 255 square miles and includes seven towns.
Here is what we have been up to:
- This past year we responded to 698 calls, an increase of 50% over the previous year’s call volume of 466. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our 50 (completely) volunteer members.
- We held a class that upgraded 9 of our non-EMS divers to the Vermont Emergency First Responder (VEFR) level and two of our members just completed a paramedic class and are certified medics running calls. We are teaching advanced EMT with seven students so they can administer IVs, meds and a higher level of assessment.
- Thanks to your support the construction of the buildings new $15,000 ventilation system has been completed, allowing us to safely hold meetings and classes for our members.
- Due to continued outbreaks of Covid-19, the flu and RSV, all of our squad members are vaccinated for Covid and the flu.Our members continue to use surgical or N95 masks, gloves and use lots of hand sanitizer on ALL call whether patients are displaying Covid or flu symptoms or not. We also wear N95 masks and face shields and goggles when performing procedures where extra precautions are necessary.
- Nine LVRS members participated in the Covid vaccine program and have given thousands of vaccines throughout the state.
LVRS depends on the generosity of our donors to help us help you. If you have donated in the past, thank you: we hope you will continue your support. If you have never given before we hope you will consider donating. A donation of any amount is important and appreciated.
