Donate to Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad

Thank you for considering a donation to LVRS!

Contributing is always important to help us serve our community as we are one of the last completely free ambulance services in Vermont. It is especially important now.  All EMS gear is very expensive. For instance, our new members needed new high visibility jackets to keep them dry and warm in the all kinds of inclement weather that we are called out in. At $280 each to meet the standard,  they  alone were over $3,000.00. We also just replaced our aging 2010 ambulance with a new four wheel drive model that is fully equipped with advanced life support systems and a power load cot to help us move and lift patients. The new ambulance cost more than $290,000.00. Of course, we have day to day expenses too, including vehicle and building maintenance, fuel, medical supplies, training supplies, heat, electricity, etc.Every contribution is generous and needed – no matter how small or how large.

Even with all of our expenses, because we are all volunteer, our costs per run are a bargain to our community at about $367 per call. Each call takes about three hours with three volunteers working from the time the call gets toned out until all the paper work is completed.

Your donation is very much appreciated and will help to keep our services free. We run about 600 calls a year with all volunteer members. Running an advanced life support ambulance and rescue service in the mountains of Vermont is extremely expensive, but because of the generosity and support of the communities and the residents that we serve, we have never needed to charge any of our patients for our transports and services. LVRS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
