Vermont Emergency First Responder (VEFR) Course

The course will be taught in person at the LVRS building in Londonderry, VT on the following days:
March 7, 2026 from 08:00-16:00 
March 8, 2026 from 08:00-16:00
March 9, 2026 from 18:00-21:30
There is a $60 fee payable to LVRS. The fee will be waived for LVRS members and reimbursed for those who become full members

For the Vermont Emergency First Responder (VEFR) certification, the scope of practice is based upon the American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED course. The primary focus of the VEFR is to initiate immediate lifesaving care to critical patients. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS response and to assist higher level personnel at the scene and during transport. Vermont Emergency First Responders function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Vermont EMS First Responders perform basic interventions with minimal equipment.
